EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)/Tapping
At first it feels a little silly to do, tapping on different parts of the body while repeating a phrase; BUT… once you see how effective it is… you won’t care and you’ll want to use tapping all the time.
The first time I heard about EFT was back in 2007 from my anatomy teacher in massage school. Yep, my anatomy teacher.
She explained what it was and I volunteered for the demonstration. We used my fear of spiders as the target. We went thru several rounds of tapping on an event from childhood with a spider that scared begeezes out of me. By the end of about 10 minutes the level of fear while imagining the spider had dropped so much that I could honestly visualize the spider without feeling much emotion. The fear had almost completely disappeared, in 10 minutes. And while I wouldn't want one as a pet (or one crawling on me for that matter), I can honestly say that I don't freak out anymore when I see one.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) also known as Tapping, is a really cool technique that works by tapping on specific acupressure points on the body that reduces the fight or flight response, while focusing on a specific issue and the emotions surrounding it.
EFT is very effective at reducing stress and anxiety, and alleviating physical pain. It's also great for eliminating fears and phobias, and is very effective at identifying limiting beliefs and releasing the underlying emotions that keep us stuck in unhealthy patterns.
